No alternative to skilled manpower for development: Muhith

15 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith today said there is no alternative to build up efficient manpower to achieve desired goals of development.

“It is not possible to achieve the desired goal of Vision-2021 and 2041 without enhancement of skills,” he said while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural function of a project titled “Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP)” organised by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at a city hotel.

The minister said the finance ministry has taken the SEIP with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank (ADB) to make the huge population of the country skilled manpower.

Training will be imparted in readymade garments, textile, information technology, construction and light engineering, leather and shipbuilding industries.

Under the project a total of 15 lakh people will be imparted training till 2021 while at initial stage 2,60,000 people would get training in first three years.

SEIP project director Jalal Ahmed and Asian Development Bank representative Brajesh P Panth were present on the occasion with BGMEA acting president SM Mannan Kachi in the chair.
