No alternative to socialism to eliminate discriminations: Inu

10 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today said there is no alternative to socialism to eliminate social and gender discrimination and disparity in globalization.

Bangladesh will have to attain progress by shunning militancy and adopting participatory democracy and social economy, he said speaking as chief guest at a discussion meeting commemorating the 39th death anniversary of China revolution leader Comrade Mao Tse Tung in the city.

Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal (M-L) organised the meeting at National Press Club with party general secretary and former industries minister Dilip Barua in the chair, said an official release.

Dhaka University International Relations Professor Delwar Hossain, Ganatantrik Karmi Shibir President Comrade Nurul Haq Mehedi, Samyabadi Dal Polit Bureau Member Lutfur Rahman, Comrade Babul Biswas and Combare Biren Saha took part in the discussion.

Hasanul Haq Inu said there is no way other than socialism to turn a developing country into a developed one.

For this, socialism was one of the four principles of the first constitution of independent Bangladesh, he said, adding that this principle was dropped after the brutal killing of Bangabandshu on August 15 in 1975.

He said the government of Sheikh Hasina has restored socialism in the constitution.

The information minister paid rich tributes to Mao Tse Tung and said he is still relevant in global politics for the emancipation of people.
