No dialogue with IS-like terrorists in Bangladesh: Tofail
04 March 2015, Nirapad News: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Tuesday said, BNP is not a political party, rather it is a platform of evil forces like IS and Boko Haram, there should be no dialogue with Islamic State (IS) like terrorists in Bangladesh.
“BNP is an extreme evil force and we all have to resist this force for the existence of Bangladesh and there would be no compromise in this regard,” Tofail said while speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the 23rd month-long “Chittagong International Trade Fair-2015″ (CITF-2015) held under the auspices of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) at Railway Polo Ground.
Speaking at the inaugural function the Minister said Khaleda Zia has declared a war against the people of Bangladesh, but we have to face them with iron hands,” he said, calling upon his party men to remain united and make the organization strengthen to meet the challenge.
The Minister said BNP chief has missed the election train for her lack of political prudence and now she has to wait till 2019 for the next election shunning violence and terrorism.
The Commerce Minister called upon the entrepreneurs of the private sectors to play more proactive role to further accelerate the country’s economic growth and lift up the country’s present economic status as developed one by 2021. With CCCI president Mahbubul Alam in the chair, the inaugural function was addressed, among others, by state Minister for land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, former CCCI President M A Latif, MP, CCCI vice-presidents Nurun Nowaz Selim and Sayed Zamal Ahmed.
The Commerce Minister said Bangladesh is a country of immense prospects and it will not be possible for us to uplift the economy into new height if we cannot defeat the anti-liberation forces and their anti state activities like hartal, arson and killing and burning of innocent people indiscriminately.
“Despite many limitations and drawbacks, we have made significant advancements in many economic and social fields like export earnings, health, agriculture and education in last six years”, he mentioned calling the entrepreneurs to work together with the government with renewed spirits of patriotism and zeal to achieve a self-sufficient economy. The government is working relentlessly to ensure a conducive and corruption-free business atmosphere in the country. He called upon all to become united for strengthening the hand of Bangabandhu daughter Sheikh Hasina.
Speaking at the function Jabed said two economic zones in Anwara and Mirsarai upazilas would be set up and 15,000 acres of land have been allocated for the same. CCCI sources said over 400 stalls including 12 premier gold pavilion, two mini mega pavilions, eight premier pavilion 16 standard pavilions, 127 premier mega booths, 50 mega booths were set up till to the date at the fair venue covering four lakh square feet of land areas of Railway Polo ground here.
He also informed that the friendly country Thailand has agreed to participate in the fair as partner country for 12th time.
Some of the leading industrial enterprises of home and abroad including from Iran, India, Turkey and Pakistan are going to participate in the fair for the 4th time along with some other countries to showcase their products.
CCCI officials said besides stringent security measures, one stop banking service, fire service center and emergency medical center will also be set up inside the fair venue for the convenient of the participants and visitors.
On the other hand, a number of high profile trade and investment delegations from India, Pakistan Turkey and Thailand are scheduled to visit the fair for exploring trade and investment prospects, the source added.
The fair will be opened for visitors from 10 am to 10 pm everyday.
