Non-resident envoys of Ecuador, Mexico meet President
7 October 2015, Nirapad News: Newly appointed ambassador of Ecuador to Bangladesh (Non-Resident) Mentor Villagomez and newly appointed ambassador of Mexico to Bangladesh Melba Pria (Non-Resident) separately presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the President praised the progress of Ecuador in the fields of infrastructural development, education and climate change and said Bangladesh will be benefited through sharing their experiences in this regard, president’s press secretary Joynal Abedin.
Abdul Hamid recalled his G77 experience of sharing common platform with Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Delgado in Bolivia last year.
He said that Bangladesh and Ecuador hold similar views in various international forum and have been working together to establish global peace.
Mentioning that Bangladesh was getting its first Ecuadorian ambassador, Abdul Hamid said through this appointment the relations between the two countries would strengthen and trade and investment will be expanded.
The President hoped that the existing relations between Mexico and Bangladesh would increase in the future which will put positive impact on trade and investment.
The two envoys sought President’s cooperation in discharging their assignments in Bangladesh.
Concerned secretaries to the President were present.
Earlier, on their arrival at Bangabhaban, the envoys were given guard of honor separately by a contingent of the President’s Guard Regiment.
