03 October 2015, Nirapad News: Noting that culture is an important element for strengthening ties between two countries, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor on Friday said he wants to see more cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Bhutan.

He made the remarks at the inaugural session of the Bhutan Film Festival organised to celebrate the 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth king of Bhutan, at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the afternoon.

Noor said they want to protest through the culture the evil attempts of the vested quarters to snatch Bangladesh’s identity as a secular country.

He also praised the Bhutan king saying he is a very modern and open-minded person.

Pema Choden, Ambassador of Bhutan, was also present at the programme.

The film festival organised by the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Dhaka in association with the Ministry of Culture of Bangladesh will end on October 6.
