Now campuses enjoy good atmosphere: Ashraf
25 January 2016, Nirapad News: Noting that the country’s universities and colleges are enjoying a congenial
atmosphere, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam on Sunday said people do not want to see violent
student politics any more.
“There’s no session jam in universities or colleges. No sound of gunshot is heard from the halls of Dhaka University.
It’s the success of the government as well as Bangladesh Chhatra League,” he said.
Syed Ashraf, also the public administration minister, said this while addressing a discussion organised by Bangladesh Chhatra League Dhaka City unit (North), marking its 68th founding anniversary at Krishibid Institution in the city.
Mentioning that now classes and examinations are held regularly in the country’s universities, the ruling party
leader said, “The academic atmosphere is not hampered anywhere in the country. We want such a situation to prevail.”
He went on saying, “I hope Chhatra League will play a firm role so that no one can pollute the existing environment
in educational institutions. The people of the country don’t want to see violent student politics anymore.”
The ruling party leader hoped that other student organisations like Chhatra League will maintain the good academic
