Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Thursday informed that no one would be able to get registered on spot from today for taking Coronavirus vaccine as the online registration can be done successfully.

The minister came up with the information at a programme of Family Planning Division held at a city hotel.

“Corona virus will have to be eliminated from the country. Infection rate of the disease has come down to a great extent and we have started the vaccination drive,” he said.

Mentioning that over 10 lakh people have got registration for the virus, the minister informed that around 2.75 lakh people have already vaccinated and the number might have exceeded four lakh by today (Thursday).

“There were lot of doubts over vaccination. But, it turned out false and the programme is progressing smoothly. Those vocal against the vaccine are now taking it. We want all receive vaccine properly,” said minister Zahid Maleque.

“The number of on spot registration is more than those getting registration online. And they fail to enter the vaccination centres. Online registration can be done successfully, so no more on spot registration is allowed from now on,” he declared.

The minister expressed hope to make the health sector more dynamic and digitalised for providing proper health services to the patients.

In the programme, field level activities of the Family Planning Division in Natore, Noakhali, Laxmipur and Jhenidah were declared paperless.
