One arrested with 18 gold bars at Shahjalal airport
15 August 2015, Nirapad News: Customs Intelligence today arrested a Dubai returned passenger along with 18 gold bars weighing 2.100 kilograms worth about Taka one crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
“We arrested one Md Selim Uddin of Fatikchhari of Chittagong along with the gold bars from Green Channel area of the airport this morning,” Dr. Mainul Khan, director general (DG) of Customs Intelligence.
“The gold bars were concealed in two water taps made by steel which was wrapped with black tape. Each of the bars is weighing 10 tolas,” he said.
Selim came to Dhaka from Dubai by a flight EK-592 this morning, he said adding that his passport number is AF-5684747.
A case was filed to this end.
