Over 100 detained in the capital for violating lockdown rules
Police detained more that 100 people from different parts of Mirpur area in the capital for coming outside from their houses without emergency on the first day of the weeklong nationwide hard lockdown on Thursday.
Besides, 36 cases have been filed and up to Tk 99,000 has been collected in fines, said Darus Salam Police OC Tofayel Ahmed.
Two magistrates are conducting the mobile court in Mirpur.
“Legal action will be taken against the detainees under the Penal Code for violating the government orders,” said Mirpur divisional DC ASM Mahtab Uddin.
Mahin Farazi, assistant commissioner of the Mohammadpur Zone, said, “We have arrested 10 people, so far, for going outside without sufficient cause.”
Earlier the DMP Commissioner warned that if anyone comes out of his or her respective house during the hard lockdown, will face arrest
