Over 150 Bangladeshi arrested in Malaysia
20 June 2015, Nirapad News: Malaysia Immigration Police arrested more than 150 Bangladeshis on Thursday from Sunway Pyramid shopping mall and its adjacent areas in Subang Jaya city for alleged misuse of student visa.
Witnesses said around 80 Bangladeshis were detained from several restaurants in Sunway Complex and adjacent construction sites.
Another 25 ‘students’ were detained from several video games stores and around 50 more from another area, they added.
All the detainees were staying in Malaysia with student visas.
Sources also said most of the detainees were students of Lincoln University, Adam College and Victoria College.
These educational institutions were allegedly involved in human trafficking using student visa.
Students are not allowed to work for part-time in Malaysia.
