Over 200 CC cameras for Ekushey book fair
31 January 2015, Nirapad News: Over two hundred close circuit (CC) cameras will be installed to ensure security for the visitors of upcoming Amar Ekushey Book Fair in city.
Moreover, two camps of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be setup by the entrances of the fair.
Bangla Academy director general (DG) Shamsuzzaman Khan made this disclosure at a press conference on the academy premises in city on Saturday afternoon (January 30) prior to the fair.
‘We have taken measures to ensure widespread security regarding the book fair. A RAB camp will be setup near Doel Chattar and one near TSC intersection.’
Moreover, a good number of law enforcers will be deployed in the fairground, the DG added.
According to the DG, the upcoming book fair will make a history as the number of book stalls has crossed all of its previous records.
However, the fair will be arranged on the premises of Bangla Academy and Suhrawardi Udyan.
Special measures have also been taken to ensure safer movement of the visitors in the far, he added.
However, the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair will begin on the first day of February. It will remain open from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on the working days and from 11:00am to 9:00pm on the holidays.
The fair will remain open from 8:00am to 9:00pm on February 21, International Mother Language Day.
Officials from Bangla Academy and other institutions were present at the press conference.
