Pakistan eve team wins T20I series
02 October 2015, Nirapad News: Pakistan eve cricket team comfortably won the two-match T20I series 2-0 as they defeated Bangladesh eve team by 34 runs in the second and last T20I on Thursday at the Southend Club Cricket Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan.
Chasing a paltry target of 115 runs set by Pakistan, Bangladesh found the chase very stiff in the face of tight bowling attacks by the Pakistani bowlers and finally managed to score 80 for 7 from their allotted 20 overs.
Middle order batsman Rumana Ahmed top scored with 27 runs followed by Ritu Moni 17.
Sana Mir and Nida Dar were the pick of Pakistani bowlers taking two wickets each conceding 9 and 15 runs respectively.
Earlier, Pakistan, riding on Bisma Maroof’s unbeaten 44-run knock, managed to score a small total of 114 for 6 from their stipulated 20 overs, after they decided to bat first.
First down Maroof, the heroin of the first match, continued her prolific form as she led from the front with cracking 38-ball off 44-run laced with two boundaries to take Pakistan to cross the one hundred landmark, after Pakistan faced early batting jolt losing four quick wickets at 61 runs of the scoreboard.
Opener Marina Iqbal (33) and Aliya Riaz (20) were the other two notable scorers for the host side.
Nahida Akter was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh picking up two wickets each for 27 runs. Bisma Maroof was named player of the match as well as player of the series for her impressive performance throughout the series.
Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a 29-run defeat to Pakistan in the first match held Wednesday at the same venue.
The first ODI of the two-match series between the two sides will be held on Sunday (October 4) at the same venue.
