PDB files seven cases in Ctg over bill dues

16 March 2016, Nirapad News: A mobile court of Chittagong Power Development Board (PDB) filed seven cases and cut off seven electric connections on Wednesday for not paying electricity bills and using illegal power connections.

Mohammad Mohiuddin, senior judicial magistrate of Power Court (North) of PDB, Chittagong, led the mobile court at city’s Patharghata area and came up with the move. The court also fined two individuals a total of TK 260,000 for using illegal power connection.

PDB sources said the cases were filed for realizing a total of about TK 1.633 million as arrears and TK 260,000 as fines. PDB Executive Engineer Mohammad Kamal Hossain, assistant engineers Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury and Mohammad Jahangir Alam, sub-assistant engineers Syed Hasan Nasir, AKM Wahedur Rahman and Mohammad Nurul Islam, among others, were present.
