‘People doubtful about Khaleda Zia’s belief in independence’
15 March 2016, Nirapad News: Railways Minister M Mazibul Hoque on Monday said the country’s people are now doubtful whether BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia believes in the country’s independence.
“Khaleda Zia is surrounded by Jamaat-Shibir men and anti-liberation elements. She nurtures the anti-liberation forces and patronise them. She wants to do politics with them,” he said.
The Railways Minister was addressing a programme titled ‘Bangabandhu at the altar of the world and the Historic March 7’ organised by Manchitra at the National Museum.
Terming BNP senior vice-chariman Tarique Rahman an impudent for making disparaging comments about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mazibul said the nation has abandoned him for showing such audacity.
Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Vice-chancellor Prof Dr MA Mannan, Secretary of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote Hasan Arif, Educationist and Researcher Dr Nigar Chowdhury and Bangladesh Chhatra League general secretary SM Jakir Hossain also spoke at the programme, according to UNB.
