Senior photojournalist Mir Mohiuddin Sohan died

 

24 February 2015, Nirapad News: Senior photojournalist Mir Mohiuddin Sohan died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the city on Tuesday. He was 57.

Mir Mohiuddin has long been suffering from cardiac diseases. He had been working for the Daily Ittefaq for three decades.

The namaz-e-janaza of the journalist was held at the Jatiya Press Club at 11:30 am. Leaders of various journalists’ bodies paid their respects to him there.

He left behind wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and journalist leaders expressed deep shock at the death of Mohiuddin who had started his career in 1985.

In separate condolence messages, Minister Inu, Jatiya Press Club President Kamal Uddin Sabuj, its General Secretary Syed Abdal Ahmad, Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) President Masud Karim and its General Secretary Bashir Ahmed prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members.

They also recalled his outstanding contributions to the field of journalism and culture.
