PM asks to ensure housing facilities for BGB members at Pilkhana
11 August 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday enjoined individuals concerned to ensure housing facilities to all classes of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members at Pilkhana in city.
The premier came up with the directives at a meeting of the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) with Sheikh Hasina in the chair at NEC conference room in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area in the morning.
After the meeting, planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said, “There are many BGB members who do not have government residence facilities. They live in rented houses around Pilkhana.”
“This is why, the prime minister asked to take the project,” he added.
The meeting also approved construction of two 15-storey residential buildings inside the Pilkhana costing Tk 58.69-crore.
The construction of the buildings will be ended in 2017, Mustafa Kamal added.
