PM for service-oriented police force
10 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her incumbent government has been working for several years to make a service-oriented police force.
Police members should serve people giving up the colonial mindset of law enforcement. They should assist people as friends, she added.
According to the PM, police members should keep in mind that people come to them to get legal assistance. They should provide service to doorsteps of the citizens.
‘We are working to make police forces into a service providing organization,’ the premier added.
The Prime Minister made these assertions while speaking at a concluding parade of the 33rd BCS (police) intern cadres of assistant police supers as chief guest at Bangladesh Police Academy at Sarda in Rajshahhi on Thursday morning.
Moreover, special projects are being implemented to enhance the capacity in fighting cyber crime, she said.
Bangladesh Police Academy principal Nayeem Ahmed chaired the function attended by home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam, state minister for Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, lawmaker Fazle Hossain Badshah and police inspector general AKM Shahidul Haque, among others.
