PM mourns death of Nayeem Gauhar

7 October 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock at the death of Independence Award recipient Geeti Kobi (lyricist) Nayeem Gauhar.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister recalled his invaluable contribution towards the great War of Independence.
“The patriotic songs written by Nayeem Gauhar provided much courage for the freedom-loving people during the War of Liberation,” she said, adding that the grateful nation would remember this contribution forever.
Nayeem Gauhar died of old-age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital early this morning at the age of 93.
He was admitted to the hospital at the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In 2000, he underwent an open heart surgery with the overall cooperation of the Prime Minister, PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan said.
