A court in Dhaka has rejected bail to actress Pori Moni and sent her to jail in a case filed under Narcotics Control Act.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Dhaka on Friday passed the order at 3.00pm following a hearing.
The court also rejected bail plea of Ashraful Islam Dipu, assistant of the actress, and sent him to jail in the same case.
Police brought actress Pori Moni and Dipu to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court premises around 11.30am and kept them at the lock-up until the court convened.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police brought Pori Moni in the court at 11.40 am on Friday.
Earlier, the court placed Pori Moni on a two-day remand for interrogation in case filed with Banani Police Station.
On August 5, the court placed Pori Moni on a four-day remand in a narcotics case of Banani Police Station and on a two-day remand in the second phase on August 10.
RAB raided the house of Pori Moni at her residence in Banani. At that time, liquor bottles and other drugs were seized from the house on August 4.
