Pranab Mukherjee’s wife passes away
18 August 2015, Nirapad News: India President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee, who was in critical condition, passed away on Tuesday morning.
She was 75.
President of India tweets: It is informed with deep sorrow that First Lady, Mrs Suvra Mukherjee passed away this morning at 1051 am.
Suvra Mukherjee was admitted to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) on August 7.
She was brought to the hospital with a respiratory problem. She was a heart patient and had been kept in the intensive care unit.
Suvra Mukherjee was born on September 17, 1940 in Jessore and married to Pranab Mukherjee on July 30, 1957.
President of India also tweets: She was a vocalist of Rabindra Sangeet and founded the ‘Geetanjali Troupe’ as tweets. Suvra Mukherjee was also a talented painter who had many group and solo exhibitions to her credit.
Suvra Mukherjee has written two books in Bangla: Chokher Aloey and Chena Achenai Chin.
