President urges all to work together for development
10 November 2015, Nirapad News: President Abdul Hamid today urged all irrespective of caste and creed to work together for the development of the country.
The President said this when a delegation of Bangladesh Buddhist Federation, led by Principal of International Buddha Bihar, Dhaka Vedanta Dharmamitra Mohathero, made a courtesy call on President at Bangabhaban here, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
“For the development of the country, we must have the mentality that a religion belongs to a community but a festival belongs to all,” the President said.
Abdul Hamid said Bangladesh is a bright example of communal harmony and from the time immemorial the religious festivals are celebrated here with participation of all.
The delegation greeted the President on the occasion of Probarona Purnima and said this year the Probarona Purnima was celebrated amid festivity.
They also said the people of all religions spontaneously participated in the Probarona Purnima and now the festival is being celebrated as a common event.
