Primary School headmaster shot to death in Kustia
24 January 2015, Nirapad News: Mahendrapur Primary School headmaster, Munsi Rabiul Islam, 43, was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Mahendrapur village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district early Saturday.
“He was returning home on a motorcycle from a brick field which he supervised when the shooting took place. The gunmen fled immediately,”
Officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station Lutfor Rahman said it was not known who shot the 43-year-old but police detained a suspect named Ohidul.
Victims nephew Mithun said his uncle received a death threat over the phone a couple of days ago.
On December 8 last year, criminals shot dead Robiul’s paternal cousin Munshi Roshidul Islam in Mohendrapur Bazar. Roshidul was the senior joint secretary of Kumarkhali thana unit of the BNP and a former upazila parishad chairman. Robiul took charge of the brick field after the death of Roshidul.
Following information, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Saturday morning. A case was filed in this connection.
