Prime Minister addresses private EPZs problems

11 May 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday directed the authorities concerned for undertakings necessary steps in resolving the problems of two private export processing zones (EPZs) to make them functional.
The PM gave the directives in the 18th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Bangladesh Private Export Processing Zone (BPEPZ) held at PMO.
The private EPZs include Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) and Rangunia Export Processing Zone.
PM’s press secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri told the media that the overall progress and existing problems of the two private export processing zones were discussed in the meeting.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif, Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain Monju, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman and Attorney General Mahbube Alam, among others, attended the meeting.
