Prime Minister hands over Jalsiri Housing Project plots
11 February 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday handed over Jalsiri Housing Project’s plots allocated for the armed forces officials in a function at the Army Golf Garden at Dhaka Cantonment.
As many as 6065 plots out of 6500 have been given to the armed forces officials through lottery, an ISPR press release said. Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and Chairman of the project Major General Abu Syeed Md. Masud spoke on the occasion. Among others, PM’s Security Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari and high civil and military officials were present.
The “Jalsiri Housing Project” has been built on about 2,000 acres of land at Rupganj in Narayanganj, the release said, adding for the project, 28 per cent land has been earmarked for road, 11 per cent land for the lake and eight per cent land for park and open field. “No village has been included in the project, and fallow land was purchased at the market price,” the release said.
In the project modern technologies have been used by maintaining environment laws. A green belt would be raised and it would be built as a satellite city from which people around the project would benefit after completion of the project.
