Prime Minister opens 3 power plants Thursday

7 October 2015, Nirapad News: Ashuganj ranked top as single region in generating power. So, Ashuganj is known as one of the largest hub of the electricity.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate three power plants having combined capacity to generate 390MW electricity. She will inaugurate the three power plants through video conference from Ganabhaban on Thursday.
Ashuganj will generate 1,200-MW after adding the three plant to the national grid. Construction works of more plant are underway in the power hub.
As part of the muster plan, the government has initiated to set up new large power plant in place of old and more gas consumed power stations.
In continuation with the plan, prime minister sheikh Hasina innuagurated construction works of five power plant with local and foreign, private and public investment on July 20 in 2013.
The units are Ashuganj 225-MW Combined Cycle Power Plant will generate electricity, 200-MW Modular Power Plant, 51-MW private-run Midland Power Plant 450-MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (South) and 450-MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (north)
AMM Sazzadur Rahman, Managing Director of the Ashuganj Power Station told there is a gas filed near to Ashuganj. There is also available an easy waterway. Ashuganj holds a good position as it is connected with national grid.
