Prime Minister seeks more French investment
01 April 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday invited more French investment to Bangladesh’s various sectors for the country’s overall development.
The PM made the request when newly-appointed French Ambassador to Bangladesh Sophie Aubert met her at her office. After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury briefed reporters. In response, he said, the Ambassador told the Prime Minister that a number of French companies are interested to work in Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina recalled with gratitude the support of French people and their intellectuals during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971 and appreciated their help for the development of Bangladesh since independence. She also laid emphasis on high-level bilateral visits to tap the potentials in both the countries.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the existing excellent relations between the two countries and hoped that the ties would further be extended in the days to come. The French envoy said France is working with the Environment and Forests Ministry for the protection of environment in Bangladesh, according to a news agency.
