Prime Minister’s motorcade caught up in traffic jam
16 February 2015, Nirapad News: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her motorcade had to stop at three points in the capital due to severe traffic congestion since Monday morning.
Although there is a rule to keep the city street clear 30 minutes before movement of the motorcade of the Prime Minister for her security. VIP roads through which the PM’s motorcade moves could not be cleared in time due to huge flow of traffic on city streets.
The car carrying the Prime Minister and the caravan carrying her assistants and security personnel started its journey for Bangladesh Secretariat from Ganabhaban, the PM’s official residence, at about 9:45am. The PM was scheduled to attend the regular weekly cabinet meeting at the Secretariat at 10:00am. ‘But her motorcade had to stop at three points of the capital Farmgate, Bangla Motor and Kakrail Mosque on its way to the Secretariat for severe traffic jam, despite frantic efforts of the law enforcers to clear roads 30 minutes before the movement of the motorcade,’ PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan told a news agency.
