Prof Kashem made emotion-driven comment, says Law Minister

03 November 2015,Nirapad News: Terming the comment of Prof Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque about justice ‘unfortunate’, Law Minister Anisul Huq on Monday said he has made the remark out of emotion.

“He (Prof Kashem) has made the remark being driven by emotion. The government will take necessary steps so that no one has to make such comment in the future,” he said while talking to reporters at the Secretariat.

Earlier, Prof Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque, father of Faisal Arefin Dipan, publisher of ‘Jagriti’ publication house who was killed by miscreants in the city on Saturday, had said, “Many people have asked me to file a case over my son’s murder but I know I won’t get justice.”

Replying to a query, Anisul said the trial of the killers of blogger Rajib Haider will end soon as the prosecution has been asked to take necessary steps for running the court proceedings every day after November 8.

Besides, investigations into the killings of other bloggers are underway, he said.

The Law Minister also said the government has taken steps to bring back Noor Chowdhury, a fugitive killer of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, from Canada after a new government assumes power there.

“The other fugitive killers of Bangabandhu who had taken shelter in different countries will also be brought back. The Home and Foreign Affairs ministries are working to identify those countries with the help of the Interpol,” he added.
