‘Professionals’ carried out attack on DU VC residence: police
12 April 2018, Nirapad News: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia today said the people who carried out attack on the residence of Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) were ‘professionals’ and vowed to bring them to book.
“I suspect that professional guys were involved in the attack on DU VC’s residence as the attackers pulled out not only the closed-circuit cameras (installed in the house) but also its hard disk,” he told a press conference at DMP Media Centre here.
He warned that the suspects involved in the misdeed would be arrested as none is above the law.
“Cases (four cases) have been filed in connection with the attack and damage, and investigation into the matter is going on…the real culprits will be detected soon and they must face the music,” Asaduzzaman said.
DMP additional commissioner Md Monirul Islam and joint commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of police Abdul Baten were, among others, present on the occasion.
In the small hours of April 8 last, the attackers entered the DU VC’s residence after breaking the main gate of the house and cutting its wire fences, and carried out the rampage.
