Professor Abdun Nur passes away
17 April 2016, Nirapad News: Eminent researcher and former chairman of Public Administration department of Chittagong University (CU) Professor Abdun Nur died of prolonged illness at a private hospital in Dhaka Saturday morning.
A prolific writer, provost and syndicate member of the CU Professor Nur was 66, family sources said.
He left behind his wife, a son, two daughters, huge number of colleagues, students, admirers and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
Family sources said Prof Nur had been suffering from complicated disease for long and was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka when his condition was worsened.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the central Mosque of Chittagong University after magrib prayers this evening and later his body will be taken to his native village Sultanpur of Raozan upazila where he will be buried at his family graveyard after 2nd janaza at 9 pm tonight.
CU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftakher Uddin Ahmed, Pro VC Dr Shirin Akther and Registrar Professor Kamrul Huda in separate messages of condolence expressed deep shock at the death of Professor Nur.
Chittagong University Teachers’ Association general secretary Dr Kazi SM Khasrul Alam Quddusi also expressed deep shock at the death of Dr Nur.
They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
