Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said public transport will resume to operate in all the city corporation areas from Wednesday maintaining health guidelines.
Quader, also the General Secretary of ruling Awami League, disclosed the matter on Tuesday afternoon through a video message from his official residence.
The buses will run at half capacity from 6:00am to 6:00pm. However, long distance bus services will remain suspended.
The decision came just two days after the government imposed a week-long restrictions to tackle coronavirus spread. The restriction would apply on public transport and some other activities.
The cities where public transports would resume are: Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, Gazipur, Cumilla and Mymensingh.
