Rajon murder, Police to return Qamrul from KSA
8 October 2015, Nirapad News: Three officials of Bangladesh Police are set to visit Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on October 12 to return Qamrul, the main accused in Rajon murder case, to the country.
As per requests of police headquarters, home ministry issued a notice in this regard on Wednesday.
Police HQ AIG (Media & PR) Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
The three officials are additional superintendent of police of Police HQ Mahbubul Karim, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Mohammad Barkat Ullah and SMP assistant commissioner AFF Nezam Uddin.
AIG (NCB) Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan took the initiative to return Qamrul following the order of inspector general of police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque, he added.
Later, Mahbubur Rahman sought the help of Riyadh NCB through INTERPOL. Authority in Riyadh also responded positively to the request.
On July 8, Samiul Islam Rajon, 13, was beaten to death in accusations of stealing a rickshaw-van at Kumargaon of Sylhet sadar upazila.
The victim was the son of one Sheikh Azizur Rahman, a microbus driver of Kandigaon union under sadar upazila.
A 28-minute video clip on the brutal torture to the boy to death went viral on the internet, creating a firestorm on the social media.
