Renew license or close doors of drug stores: Nasim tells owners
25 October 2015, Nirapad News: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today asked the owners of drug stores to renew their licenses or to shut the doors of their businesses.
“The number of drug stores in Dhaka will be brought down. We will not let anyone to sell medicines in grocery stores. Everyone has to renew their licenses or else their stores will be closed,” he said.
The minister came up with the observations while addressing a function held on the occasion of launching of One Pharma at city’s Hotel Sonargaon.
Awami League organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan, director general of Directorate General of Drug Administration Major General Md Mustafizur Rahman, commandant of Armed Forces Medical College Major General Md Jahangir Hossain Mallik addressed the function, among others.
“Bangladesh exports medicine to 90 countries of the world including the US. Many European nations want to import medicine from Bangladesh,” the minister said, asking the medicine companies to lower the price of their products.
