RMP members to get ICT training
14 March 2016, Nirapad News: Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) have started getting the first-ever practical training on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in order to uplift their knowledge in this field.
RMP has launched the training programme at Hatemkhan Desktop IT Center in the city yesterday. A total of 15 policemen are taking part in the two-month training course in the first phase.
RMP Commissioner Md Shamsuddin attended and addressed the opening session as chief guest. Deputy Commissioner (West) Nahidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Tofayel Ahmed, Senior Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) Ibne Mijan and Assistant Commissioner (Training) Anwar Hossain also spoke.
In his remarks, Md Shamsuddin said there is no alternative to ICT knowledge to boost working skills of police along with infusing dynamism into its operational activities. He told the session that IT is used in many developed countries to bring the big criminals to book.
So, the RMP men should have ICT knowledge to enhance their professional competence.
He said the center will provide the policemen with training on information of communication technology to enhance their professional excellence to deal with the crimes involving modern technologies.
The policemen will also be given training on cyber crimes per year in a bid to develop their professional excellence to deal with such crimes involving high-technology, he added.
Local trainers will conduct the training programmes. RMP will also start providing training to train the trainers, who will give training to policemen.
