Road crashes, Land minister’s son among 6 killed in Tangail
9 Jan 2015, Nirapad News: Six people, including son of land minister, were killed and 20 others injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway early hours of Saturday.
Of the decased, one was identified as Sherif Rana (45), son of son of land minister Shamsur Rahaman Sherif.
Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway (west) thana officer-in-charge (OC) Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier at dawn, a bus knocked a cattle-laden truck from behind on the highway leading a hit to five other trucks in the queue.
The accident left three dead and 20 others injured.
Injured were sent to Tangail Medical Colelge Hospital (TMCH) and Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.
Later, one succumbed to his injuries at TMCH.
On the other hand, a truck hit an ambulance that was parked to rescue the injured from aforesaid accident, from behind, leaving one dead on the spot.
Another was killed in separate road accident on the same highway around 11:00am on the day.
