Rozina who lost leg in Banani road crash dies

9 April 2018, Nirapad News: Rozina Akter, 20, who lost her right leg in a road crash in the city’s Banani area on April 20, today died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

She breathed her last at the intensive care units (ICU) of the DMCH around 7:00am, Coordinator of Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of the hospital Dr Samanta Lal Sen told BSS.

Rozina, a domestic worker hailing from Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh, was taken to the DMCH burn unit on April 25 from National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).

She lost her right leg as a BRTC double-decker bus hit her while she was crossing the road in the city’s Banani area at 8:30 pm on that day.

She was rushed to the NITOR immediately after the accident.

Rozina’s body was handed over to her father Rasul Miah in the presence of Sub-Inspector of Banani Thana Mizanur Rahman around 11:30 am today.
