17 August 2015, Nirapad News: Gone are the days when Kangana Ranaut lived a life bereft of friends. Post the super success of ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, Kangana counts the high and mighty of Bollywood from Amitabh Bachchan to Aamir Khan as her friends.

And the latest addition to this Bollywood diva’s growing list of A-list friends happens to be none other than Salman Khan and it was at the latter’s insistence Kangana ended up giving the script of ‘Katti Batti’ a hearing.

“Salman called me to tell me about the script and I am glad that he did that. I was in New York then and after Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns I was flooded with women-centric scripts and that became my priority. So under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have given anything else much of a thought,” revealed Kangana.

Salman Khan’s call finally made the difference. “Salman told me that I had to do this film. He is a friend and I trust him. So, when he asked me to hear the script, I agreed. And I absolutely loved the script and ended doing the film, ” said Kangana.

Salman Khan sure knows how to convince ladies, we say. In the film “Katti Batti”, Kangana will portray the character of a fun-loving, bold and open minded girl, but she insisted that her character Payal is different from Tanuja which she played in her last release “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”.

“Nobody is like Tanuja Trivedi in this whole world. Payal’s is a different character, her life is not that exciting as Tanuja’s. But yes, she is one of those people who I identify with. “She looks very strong and bold from outside but from inside she is very soft and emotional. Payal is a very cute character but completely misunderstood,” Kangana said.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, “Katti Batti” is set to release September 18.
