“Selfie Queen” British politician offers lucky man Valentine’s date for charity
Nirapad News : The Labour politician is considering offering ‘one lucky’ lothario the chance to join her for a romantic dinner after she starts an online charity auction for a date. Fancy a date with the infamous, selfie-mad councillor Karen Danczuk?
One lucky lothario could get just that this Valentine’s weekend – but at a price.
‘Queen of the Selfie’ Karen Danczuk is considering offering one ‘lucky person’ the chance of a night out on Valentine’s Day this Saturday in aid of charity.
She’s considering running an online auction for a date, with the highest bidder treated to a spot of dinner, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Karen, who is married to Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, tweeted: “Just realised its Valentines Day Saturday! Hmmmm should I offer one lucky person a night out for charity?? KD.”
That prompted a deluge of responses from fans.
Bryn Smith posted: “Yessss you should defo do this, I can feel a Twitter meltdown coming.”
Andy Hudson tweeted: “Sounds like a great idea, and for a good cause as well.”
Andy Futers said: “Meee, but can I leave the wife at home and we can send a selfie of us to her.”
And Phil Jeffries posted: “Where we going then? Has to be a restaurant in Rochdale!”
The bids already seem to be coming in, with dozens of people keen to show Karen a night on the tiles.
Andrew Meaden posted: “I’m starting with £200.”
Another anonymous user offered £2,000.
Karen said: “I was sitting there and I just thought it would be a good idea to raise money for charity – and it’s an easy way to raise cash.
“If someone bids high, I promise I will go out on a date with them.”
Just weeks after announcing she is set to step down as a councillor, Karen sold her Rochdale deli earlier this month.
The mum-of-two has shot to fame after posting dozens of revealing pictures of herself on Twitter, gathering more than 30,000 followers.
Speculation has been mounting for some time that the Labour politician may be lining up reality TV appearances after hiring a London-based agent.
Although it is understood she has a number of potential gigs lined up, Karen insists ‘nothing is set in concrete’.
She’s not sure which charity she’ll pick for yet and an official online auction for a Valentine’s date could follow in the coming days.
