Shahbazpur-Karimganj raillway link discussed at Bangladesh-India confce
29 November 2015, Nirapad News: High officials of Bangladesh and India Sunday discussed various issues including the rail link from Shahbazpur of Kulaura to Karimganj of India and the launching of border haats and peaceful coexistence on the frontiers.
They discussed the issues on the second day of the three-day conference between Bangladesh Deputy Commissioners and Indian District Magistrates at a hotel at Srimangal here, official sources said.
The issues of checking drug trafficking and border crimes also came up for the discussion, Deputy Commissioner of Bangladesh district of Moulvibazar Md Qamrul Hasan is leading the 13-member Bangladesh, while Kachar District Magistrate of India S Biswanathan is leading the 8-member Indian team in the conference.
The Bangladesh team also includes Moulavibazar Deputy Commissioner M Quamrul Hasan, Sylhet Superintendant of Police Nure Alam Mina, ADM of Sylhet Syed M Aminur Rahman, Commanding Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh-52 Major Abdullah Al Mahmud.
Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Sanjib Kumar Barua, Police Super of Kachar Rajibhor Singh, Commandant Officer Sanjib Yoshi, Kachar Deputy Commissioner J Biswas, Karimganj Police Super Pradip Ranjan Kar and Shilchar Additional Deputy Commissioner NK Das have been included in the Indian delegation.
