Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University students on rampage over fellow student’s death

03 March 2015, Nirapad News: Students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) have gone on the rampage and vandalized at least 20 vehicles in the capital’s Agargaon area on Tuesday morning protesting death of one of their fellow student in a road crash.

The diseased M Alif was the student of first year of the University.

Kafrul police station OC Abdul Qaiyum said the student was injured severely when he fell under the wheels at the time of getting down from a passenger bus of ‘Bihanga Paribahan’ at Agargaon Bypass Road at about 8:45 am.

Alif was rushed to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (Pangu Hospital) where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

As the news of Alif’s death spread, hundreds of students of the university took to the streets and vandalized several vehicles in the area at about 11 am.

Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
