The government has decided to allow all shops and shopping malls across the country to keep their shutters open from 9am-5pm till April 13 amid 7-day nationwide lockdown.
A gazette notification has been issued on Thursday in this regard.
As per the notice, the shopping complexes to remain open till 5pm from April 9-13 maintaining the health guidelines properly.
It said legal action would be taken if health protocols are not maintained properly.
Protests of shop owners and employees for last three days forced the government to take the decision.
Earlier, the government imposed a 7-day restriction on people’s movement from April 5 as COVID-19 cases and deaths have been on the rise in the country.
The main objective of the lockdown is to control unnecessary public movements and gatherings with stronger monitoring by members of law enforcement agencies and thus contain the virus transmission, the government said.
