Signal-3 at seaports Stormy wind may occur in 18 dists
20 Septembar 2015, Nirapad News: Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
According to met office bulletin, the low over central bay and adjoining areas moved northwestwards and now lies over west central bay and adjoining northwest bay.
Under its influence steep pressure gradient, persist over North Bay. Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Besides, in association with rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary south south-easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over 18 districts of the country.
The regions are Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.
However, riverports in the areas shall hoist cautionary signal number one.
On the other hand, from heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions during next 24 hours commencing 10:00am Sunday.
Due to very heavy rainfall landslide may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong division.
