Sinovac vaccine approved in Bangladesh for emergency use

Drug Administration has approved Chinese Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in Bangladesh.

Maj Gen Mahbubur Rahman, Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), signed the paper on Sunday.

Incepta Vaccine Ltd will work in the country as local agents. The trade name of the Sinovac vaccine is CoronaVac.

It is 5th vaccine that got approval for emergency use in Bangladesh.

Earlier, the vaccine has been approved in 22 countries around the world. Two doses of the Sinovac vaccine can be administered among people aged above 18 years. The two doses will be inoculated within two to four weeks of the first vaccine shot.
