Sorrowful 1-year of N’ganj 7-murder
27 April 2015, Nirapad News: One year of the gruesome Narayanganj seven-murder incident has passed with no mentionable development in its trial proceedings.
Though charge sheet in the murder cases was submitted accusing three sacked RAB officers among 35 on April 8, some 11 months after the murder, the main accused of the case Nur Hossain among 13 people also are not arrested yet.
District DB police submitted the charge sheet before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate where three Army officers and councilor Nur Hossain have been accused.
In the charge sheet, the investigation officer showed 22 people, including 17 RAB officers arrested while Nur Hossain and 13 others, including eight RAB officers, fugitive. Among the indicted, 21 accused gave confessional statements to the court.
In a latest development, DB police arrested Abul Bashar from South Golakandail area of Rupganj on March 27 of 2015. Later, police took him on a 7-day remand.
However, on April 27 of 2014, Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his driver and three associates, and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were abducted separately from Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road.
On April 30 in 2014, police recovered six bodies and on March 1 another body from the Shitalakhya river.
Two cases were filed in this regard naming Siddhirganj Thana Awami League president Nur Hossain, also Narayanganj City Corporation councilor, as the main accused.
