Speaker, deputy speaker mourn death of Mahmudul Islam
16 February 2016, Nirapad News: Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today expressed profound shock at the death of former attorney general Mahmudul Islam.
In a condolence message, the speaker prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved members of the family.
Deputy Speaker M Fazle Rabbi Miah also expressed deep grief at the death of Mahmudul lslam. The deputy speaker also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Chief Whip ASM Feroz was also deeply shocked at the death of former attorney general and constitution expert Mahmudul Islam. He also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He expressed sympathy to the bereaved members of the family.
Constitution expert and former attorney general Mahmudul Islam died at a city hospital on Monday. He was 80. Mahmudul was suffering from lung and kidney diseases.
He left behind his wife, two sons, relatives, colleagues, and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
He will be buried at the yard of his residence in Rangpur district after holding namaj-e-janaza on the Supreme Court premises on Wednesday after his two sons come from Canada.
Born in Rangpur in 1936, Mahmudul Islam obtained his BA honours and master’s degrees from political science department of Dhaka University.
