Speaker visits Bangladesh Consulate General in New York
18 March 2015, Nirapad News: Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, MP, in a visit to the Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York, highlighted on the policy priorities of the present Government especially about the consular and welfare issues of the expatriate community.
The Speaker, during her visit on Monday, gave a patient hearing to the growing consular needs of the Bangladesh community especially within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in New York.
While commending the dedicated services of the Mission officials, she expressed hope that Bangladesh community will benefit from the program of the Government aimed at their welfare.
The Consul General briefly narrated the activities of the Mission and expressed Mission’s gratefulness for the continued support being received from the Government.
Shameem Ahsan, ndc, Consul General and other Officers and Officials of the Mission welcomed her at the Bangladesh community.
The Speaker, later, visited all the Sections of the Consulate and interacted with the Mission officials. She also inquired about the well-being of the Bangladesh nationals who were present at the Consulate in big numbers.
Dr AK Abdul Momen, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN and senior officials were present during the time.
The Speaker arrived New York in connection with important programs, said a press release issued by Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York on Tuesday.
