Speaker visits Pirganj today
03 November 2015,Nirapad News: Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury MP will visit her constituency Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) tomorrow as per a rescheduled programme, official sources said.
The Speaker will arrive at Duck Bungalow in Pirganj upazila town at 11 am by road from Dhaka to take part in a number of programmes before leaving for the capital city on the same day afternoon.
Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Mazharul Islam told that the Speaker will inaugurate 10 development projects using digital technologies in a ceremony at Pirganj upazila parishad premises at noon.
She will provide new power connections to 14,500 households of 261 villages under Rangpur Polli Bidyut Samity-1 of Rural Electrification Board and inaugurate new Branch of the ‘Polli Sanchoy Bank’ under the ‘One House, One farm’ Project.
She will inaugurate the newly built academic buildings of Shah Abdur Rouf College, Shalti Sams Dighee Model High School, Bhendabari Degree College, Pirganj Model Girls’ High School and Bajitpur Aminia Girls’ High School.
She will inaugurate construction works of office building of Rangpur Regional Station of Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN) and 39-metre long RCC Girder Bridge on the Akhira canal by unveiling plaques.
The Speaker will distribute seed of different crops and fertilisers among farmers sunder the agriculture rehabilitation programme, wheel chairs, spectacles and hearing aid materials among 15 physically challenged students of primary schools.
She will leave for the capital city by road in the afternoon wrapping up her one-day official visit to Pirganj on the same day.
