Special trains will be operated on the Gazipur-Tongi-Dhaka route from next Sunday to avoid traffic congestion on road.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Rasel disclosed the matter on his face book page on Wednesday night.
He wrote that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has gifted us the BRT project to ease the traffic congestion from Gazipur to the airport, but slow progress of the project caused immense sufferings to the people and the sufferings increase to a great extent during monsoon.
“After talking to the Railways Minister on Wednesday night, an initiative has been taken to operate special trains on Gazipur-Tongi-Dhaka route to ease sufferings of the commuters.
He also thanked the minister for taking the initiative, saying that all kinds of development initiative will be continued in future.
