Stocks open mixed
12 May 2015, Nirapad News: The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed positive trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative trend on Tuesday morning amid choppy trading.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 2.74 points or 0.06 per cent to 4,352 after the first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00am. The two other indices also saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 5.50 points or 0.33 per cent to 1,630.22.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 0.94 points or 0.09 per cent to reach 1,043.95 points. DSE turnover stood at Tk 964 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 116 advanced, 113 declined 29 remained unchanged.
United Power and Distribution Company was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 76 million changing hands followed by NBL, SPCL, ACI Formulations and Beximco.
The port city bourse, CSE, however, saw downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 28.68 points to 8,152, also at 11:00am. Of the issues traded till then, 43 gained, 74 declined and 8 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 53m.
