Stocks return to green today
18 December 2014, Nirapad News : Stocks have returened to green today after five sessions of losing streak with turnover falling slightly as a result of cautious investors. DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) went up marginally by 18.16 points or 0.38 per cent to close at 4,856.41 points from the previous session. The two other indices also closed in positive. The DS30, comprising blue chips gained 4.16 points or 0.23 per cent to close at 1,792.86 points. The DSE Shariah Index gained 6.95 points or 0.61 per cent to close at 1,144.83 points. Turnover dropped to Tk 2.31 billion, registering a decline of 18.94 per cent over the previous session’s value of Tk 2.85 billion. The gainers took a lead over the losers as out of 310 issues traded, 172 gained, 97 declined and 41 remained unchanged on the DSE floor. Quasem Drycells was the most traded stock with shares worth Tk 82.68 million changing hands followed by Fu-Wang Foods, RAK Ceramics, Square Pharma and Agni Systems. The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed positive after fifth sessions with its Selective Categories Index – CSCX – gained 2.52 points to close at 9,102.45 points. Gainers beat losers 122 to 98, with 35 issues remaining unchanged at the port city bourse that traded 6.38 million shares and mutual fund units, turnover value of Tk 227.94 million.
